Players control a blue-haired spellcaster who descends into a ruined city to solve the mystery of its decay. The game thrusts players into the action immediately, with only a short, nonverbal animated intro to set the mood. Because there is no difficulty spike built in and no permanent upgrades there is really no reason you couldn't just beat it on your first run if you got some good spells and upgrades. In Lone Ruin, you play as an explorer seeking a mysterious ancient power and venture into a ruined magical city, built atop a source of magic used by olden mages to power and transform themselves. I would say this is one of the most under developed games I can remember, not from a polish or quality standpoint but just from a content perspective. I would say this Lone Ruin is a very bare bones new roguelike from Cuddle Monster Games that features 1 repeatable track of levels and bosses. ![]() As you pick out your spells from the bag, the odor of brimstone enters your nostrils making you gag just slightly.
